Evidence Summary (Updated 2022)
Depression can present with increased or decreased appetite. A significant reduction in the appetite symptom item on the Beck Depression Inventory is demonstrated in a randomised control trial (p = 0.006).(37) The recommendation of physical activity to regulate appetite from a practitioner perspective and Mind research is that this is not a factor seen in programmes or cited in their research.
